Learning to quit

I have quit seven jobs at this point in my career, and every time, I think I can find something better that I would love.

I have loved every one of my jobs–they have all helped me grow as a coworker, a leader, and a woman. I love owning that amazing network of friends and coworkers and people i would talk to again about anything and everything.  but there is always a moment when I realize how much I need to leave that role to improve myself and how I work and what I can do with my knowledge. I do not know if it really exists to work somewhere I love, and being happy with exactly what I do. But it is worth trying them all to better understand where you fit and makes the most sense.

Industries worked

community non-profit - noble mission, but failed to see long-term vision with donation and development strategy (operating budget was largely grants and proceeds from annual gala)

trade book publishing - lost to the ebooks for a while, but books are meant to be held and displayed; unfortunately the revenue is still long and slow because this is a mature market

digital marketing agency - major clients and cool projects, but the agency did not have long-term potential for compensation or product strategy; almost want to step into the vortex again to decide

social media platform - just as boring and vapid as you thought it might be, but in a powerfully fun way that you
